Every piece of data tells a story; our responsibility is to ensure it leads to action.
Moses Asiimwe
Before joining Riva Uganda, Moses spent over fifteen years helping governments, civil society organisations and development partners strengthen how they measure results, learn from evidence and improve development programmes. Working across Uganda's water and sanitation, governance, education, health and livelihoods sectors, he built a reputation for translating complex data into practical decisions that improve people's lives. He brought that experience to Riva, where he now helps ensure that data is not simply collected, but used to strengthen institutions, influence policy and improve the sustainability of water, sanitation and hygiene services.
Moses connects data generated in communities with the national systems that guide planning, budgeting and accountability. He works at the intersection of evidence, learning and systems strengthening, supporting government institutions, district local governments and development partners to make better decisions through high-quality monitoring, evaluation and learning systems. Whether leading national water and sanitation assessments, facilitating learning among sector stakeholders or strengthening district monitoring systems, he works to ensure that lessons from practice inform decisions, and that stronger systems emerge when learning is embedded in everyday decision-making.
After over nearly two decades of working across Uganda's development landscape, Moses has developed extensive expertise in results-based management, organisational learning and systems strengthening. He has supported national policy processes, contributed to Uganda's water and sanitation monitoring framework, and the participated in regional and international learning platforms.
Moses holds a Master of Management Studies, two Postgraduate Diplomas in Monitoring and Evaluation, and Procurement and Supply Chain Management, and a Bachelor of Development Studies. Moses is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration. He is based in Kampala, Uganda.
