Mr. Ben Yaw Ampomah is a senior Water Resources Management specialist with over 34 years of experience in Ghana’s water sector. He holds an MPhil in Development Studies (Environmental Economics), a BA (Hons) in Economics, and a Diploma in Education. He served as Executive Secretary of the Water Resources Commission and is now an Individual Consultant.
His expertise includes water governance, IWRM, policy development, environmental economics, capacity building, and transboundary water cooperation. He has led national initiatives such as Ghana’s IWRM Plans, the Riparian Buffer Zone Policy, and the Volta Basin Water Charter, and has trained water practitioners across Africa. Mr. Ampomah is Chairman of the Country Water Partnership (GWP-Ghana), serves on multiple advisory boards, and has authored over 40 publications in water resources management.
